API Industries Inc. In ground filter with manual influent shut off capabilities can be manufactured to accommodate any plumbing drainage configurations, irrespective of the depth of the drainage trunk line.

This device will be mounted flush with the finish floor, and may work in
conjunction with a liquid lift station, when ever the effluent liquids need to be
coalesced to remove it’s hydrocarbons. When this device is manufactured with
the configuration of two in ground filters, a flow converter preceding the
filters will be installed, allowing for a separation of the influent flow with a
50/50 diversion of the influent flow into the two filters.

The need for “shut off” capability on this device will become obvious when
the filters become full of solids and the trunk line starts to backup. Removing
the filter at this time would allow for any solids in the trunk line to flow
into the pump housing of the liquid lift unit. These solids will restrict
pump flow, and eventually lead to the pump motor burnout.
